THE Music Lovers Group (MLG) will host an Indian classical (Carnatic) keyboard concert by child prodigy Sathya on April 20 at the Indian Cultural Centre.The 12-year old musician, who made his debut when he was six, released his first album at the age of eight and went on to bring out three more by the time he was 11.

One of the youngest in the world to pass the 8th grade of Trinity College, London examination on electronic keyboard, Sathya has also got a natural flair for playing the violin and is a promising singer.“He can listen to a song sung or played on an instrument and reproduce it on his keyboard and can tell its notes,” a spokesman of MLG said yesterday.Sathya has sung under the baton of music directors S A Rajkumar, Deva, Vidyasagar and Devi Prasad.

Also a composer, he has one project under his belt - Avar Parvai: Avar Punnagai, a collection of eight songs on Aurobindo and the Mother, is awaiting a sponsor.Sathya is a disciple of mandolin maestro Padmashree U Shrinivas since February 2004. Despite his busy schedule, Sathya goes to school - he is a Class 6 student of the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan in Chennai.For his Doha concert Sathya will be accompanied on the violin by Ananthakrishnan and on the mridangam by Suryanarayanan Raju.
